What is High Tech High (HTH)?
High Tech High (HTH) is a network of 16 K-12 charter schools and a graduate school of education, known for its project-based pedagogy, intentional integration of students across race, ethnicity, and income level, and its graduates’ high rates of continuing education. HTH is based on four design principles: equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design. Learn more at hightechhigh.org and hthgse.edu.
How are teachers using this book?
Our hope is that teachers will find inspiration in the projects described in Changing the Subject, sparking new ideas and iterations. Teachers and school leaders are using the book and website for project ideation and planning sessions. We have also heard about professional development sessions where teachers take apart specific projects to analyze different project phases, such as project launch or exhibition.
